Citizens' Assembly on the Future of Canadian Federalism & Soirée citoyenne sur l'avenir du Québec, June/juin 2008

In June, two important events of my doctoral research will take place: on June 14, a Citizens' Assembly on the Future of Canadian Federalism, in Kingston; on June 19, a Citizens' evening on the Future of Quebec.

En juin, deux événements de ma recherche doctorale se dérouleront à quelques jours d'intervalle: le 14 juin avec l'Assemblée citoyenne sur l'avenir du fédéralisme canadien et le 19 juin avec la soirée citoyenne sur l'avenir du Québec.

Soirée citoyenne sur l'avenir du Québec, Montréal, juin 2008, invitation

Le 15 mars dernier se déroulait à l'Université de Montréal une assemblée citoyenne sur l'avenir du Québec.

Pour compléter les données récoltées lors de cette fructueuse assemblée, le jeudi 19 juin 2008 sera organisée une soirée citoyenne sur le même thème : l'avenir du Québec !

Invitation cordiale à toutes et tous... que vous soyez beaucoup, peu ou pas du tout intéressé par la politique !

Concrètement, la soirée commencera à 19h et se terminera à 22h30. Les participants pourront discuter avec des experts et d'autres citoyens. Les discussions s'annoncent passionnantes !

Citizens' Assembly on the Future of Canadian Federalism, Kingston, June 2008, Invitation

After two citizens' assemblies in French (Liège, in French-speaking Belgium, and Montreal, in Québec), the next assembly will be organized in an English-speaking setting, Kingston, Ontario. On Saturday, 14th June, I hope to gather fifteen citizens for an assembly on the future of Canadian federalism. From 9:30am to 2:00pm, the participants will have the opportunity to discuss with politicians, political scientists, and fellow citizens about topics related to Canadian federalism ! By the way, participants don't need any political knowledge or even interest in politics.

The event will take place at the Institute of Intergovernmental Relations, Queen's University, where I am currently a visiting scholar.

Above all, each participant will receive a $10 honorarium and a lunch will be provided! From the previous assemblies, I can tell that the discussions will be vey interesting!
